Streamlining Our Processes

He also went on to explain that the project’s overall Site Managers, Vinci Construction, are finding it useful too. Russ, who cc emails necessary paperwork to them from within the app said they are impressed with the speed at which they are now receiving the inspection documents. More importantly it is their own Partition Inspection sheet, presented as a PDF with embedded images. Meaning that Vinci no longer had to transfer the information into their own records.

Commercial Partitioning

Commercial Partitioning: Stalco Construction has completed the interior fit-out of the 27,000-square-feet executive, administrative, and operations offices of the New York-based Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP, in Islandia.

Designed by TPG Architecture, the new offices are located within CA Technologies’ 778,000-square-feet headquarters campus at One CA Plaza in Islandia.

The interior fit-out included construction of 52 private executive and attorney offices, three open plan administrative areas, a reception lobby, a boardroom, five conference rooms, an IT/IDF room, a pantry and break room, and utility rooms. A 120-foot-long, frameless, butt-glazed glass knee wall was also constructed that separates the law firm’s space from the shared atrium.

The design team faced several challenges related to the client’s functional requirements, the location and former use of the space. TPG had to accommodate the new private tenant within an open-plan building previously occupied by one large company.

Birmingham Building Designers

Birmingham Building Designers: Speaking in Birmingham this morning, Mr Osborne told how infrastructure is “vital to a country like Britain”.
Mr Osborne was in Birmingham to promote the launch of the city’s enterprise zone.

Asked what role construction can play in economic recovery, and when the industry can expect to see more immediate projects coming to the fore, he told CN: “We need to compete in the global race, and there are businesses around the world that can choose either to base themselves here in Birmingham and the West Midlands or in Shanghai or Bangalore.

“These are the decisions big companies are making. I think economic infrastructure is really vital to a country like Britain and to a city like Birmingham.”

Mr Osborne said this is partly about the tax support the government provides to business, saying “we have now got one of the most competitive tax regimes in the entire world”.

MANSFIELD’S B&M Bargains store has been hit with fines of more than £32,000 after being found guilty of breaching fire safety regulations.

Fire protection officers from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service paid a visit to the newly-opened Stockwell Gate shop in June last year and found that the store’s fire precautions were inadequate.
Appearing at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court, representatives from the national retail store admitted breaching six fire safety offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
The court was told that B&M had failed to create a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment and were found to have obstructed fire exits leading out of the building.
Fire officers also found a fire exit route led to a locked enclosed area and bosses also failed to ensure that employees received adequate safety training.
